
Christy Bergman
Senior Consultant
Christy Bergman brings more than a decade of experience in the social sector for a variety of nonprofit, education and government entities. Christy’s particular expertise is fundraising for startup organizations and new programs. In her last role before joining JVA in 2011, Christy managed a successful startup campaign of $12.5 million during the economic recession.
JVA Experience
Christy is passionate about building a culture of service for JVA, as well as for JVA’s inspiring social and community change-driven clients. Christy contributes to JVA’s fund development work, as well as quality campaign feasibility studies; capital, endowment and annual campaign support; strategic and fund development planning; compelling development messaging and writing; and a variety of customized and public trainings, all of which help JVA’s clients meet their goals. Christy works with clients interested in strategic, business and fund development planning and implementation, particularly in times of change or growth.

- Warren Village: comprehensive capital campaign feasibility study and fund development training

- The City and County of Denver: fundraising governance, grantwriting, strategic planning and lead liaison for JVA’s largest client
- Habitat for Humanity of Colorado: culture of stewardship fundraising training for affiliates across the region in Colorado, New Mexico, Utah and Wyoming
- Family Resource Center Association: fund development training for cohort of affiliates, with a particular emphasis on diversifying contributed and earned income opportunities and in partnership with Adam Brock
- Stout Street Foundation: strategic planning, fund development planning and fund development training
- New Legacy Charter School: fund development training and support, case statement development
- Clinica Tepeyac: campaign case statement development
Degree
Christy graduated summa cum laude with a B.A. in community studies from the University of Massachusetts, Boston.

Fun Fact
Christy grew up in Alaska and lives in the mountains with her husband, daughter and rescue dog. ☺ Living from Alaska to Florida—and loving the social sector in between.
