Description:
The purpose of this program is to help mayoral or county administrations develop a strategic plan for robust consumer financial protection capabilities within their local government. Award recipients will receive an intensive six- to nine-month technical assistance engagement partnership to begin planning for a local consumer financial protection initiative. Award recipients will craft a strategic implementation based on a series of conversations with local stakeholders and legal research into authority to engage in consumer protection work. Stakeholders will include leaders from state and local government, advocates, nonprofit service providers, and philanthropy.
