Ben & Jerry’s Foundation: Grassroots Organizing for Social Change Program
Deadline: 10/15/2020 LOI
Amount: $25,000 max
Description:
The purpose of this program is to further social and environmental justice and to support sustainable and just food systems. Rather than focusing on the specific issues that applicant organizations are addressing, this program focuses on the types of activities and strategies that applicant organizations use for creating social change.
The funding agency believes that grassroots, constituent-led organizing is among the most effective means to create social change, and defines organizing as collective action that challenges the status quo, demands changes in policy and practice, educates communities about root causes of social problems, and advocates and agitates for systemic and just solutions. Funding will be issued for both general and project support. Eligible applicants are 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations with an annual budget under $500,000.
