Description:
The purpose of this program is to promote peace and social justice by supporting underserved children, youth, women, and other marginalized communities. Funding will support projects that will strengthen communities and encourage people to become productive, thriving citizens. This program will provide general operating support to help support and maintain an organization as it pursues its mission, as well as project-specific support.
Organizations and projects must address one of the following focus areas:
  1. Initiatives to prevent homelessness and provide housing: organizations and projects under this focus area must help prevent homelessness and provide housing to those who desperately need it, influence policy that decriminalizes homelessness, and educate the public on the root causes of homelessness
  2. Welcoming and supporting immigrants and refugees: organizations and projects under this focus area must welcome and support refugees and immigrants through legal support, community navigation, and advocacy for the humane treatment of undocumented families
  3. Responding to critical needs to strengthen communities: organizations and projects under this focus area must support community resource centers, criminal justice reform, community farms and parks, and youth skill-building programs, as well as protect democracy and peace
