Deadline: 1/08/2020
Amount: $75,000–$3,000,000
Description:
The purpose of this program is to support fish habitat restoration projects that use an ecosystem-based approach to foster species recovery and increase fish populations. Habitat restoration includes activities that contribute to the return of degraded or altered marine, estuarine, coastal, and freshwater diadromous fish habitats to functioning habitats, or techniques that provide species with access to their historic habitats. Proposed projects will primarily be evaluated based on their ability to demonstrate how the proposed habitat restoration actions will help recover threatened and endangered species listed under the Endangered Species Act (ESA), including species identified by the funding agency as “Species in the Spotlight;” sustain or help rebuild fish stocks managed under the Magnuson-Stevens Fishery Conservation and Management Act; and contribute to the sustainability of saltwater recreational fisheries.
