The purpose of this program is to support water-related projects or studies that have statewide impact or importance. This program also supports feasibility studies and projects that address statewide, regionwide, or basinwide water issues. Projects must benefit a wide range of people and organizations, and/or a large geographical area.
Eligible projects include:
  1. Administration of compact-entitled waters
  2. Facilitation of solutions to regional water supply problems
  3. Addressing federal water rights issues
  4. Recovery or conservation of threatened or endangered species within riparian ecosystems
  5. Development and management of a state monitoring system for collection and development of hydrologic and climatologic data
  6. River restoration and floodplain management projects affecting agriculture, recreation, or other industries that economically impact significant areas of the state
