Deadline: 2/11/22 (LOI); 5/20/22 (Full Proposal)
The mission of the Dental Trade Alliance (DTA) Foundation is to increase access to and utilization of oral health care by broadening literacy of oral health’s impact on overall health. This year, the DTA Foundation plans to fund five $25,000 grants based on the following focus areas: Oral Health, Planning & Program Development, Public Health, Special Populations re: Disabilities, Special Populations re: Senior/Aging. In particular,
- DTA Foundation is focused on oral health, access to care and its connection to overall health.
- DTA Foundation manages its resources to drive innovation and stimulate creative projects in a sound and fiscally responsible manner.
To be invited to complete a full application for a DTA Foundation grant, your organization will be required to complete the digital LOI through the SurveyMonkey Apply online platform. Preliminary proposal summaries are a requirement for all organizations. The DTA Foundation will only invite projects to complete a full application from the list of 2022 preliminary LOI applicants. All applicants who submitted an LOI will be notified of their status in mid-March via email. Accepted preliminary applicants will be invited to complete a full grant application.
The vision of the DTA Foundation is a healthy smile for all. As of 2020, it has provided over $2.4 million in support of 115 different innovative projects designed to increase access to oral health care. Many of these projects have successfully expanded DTA Foundation seed money by attracting funds from other major sources enabling their projects to grow; resulting in long term-impact on oral health care awareness and access for those in need. The DTA Foundation’s priority is to award grants to projects that can leverage additional funding and expansion in other geographic areas. Programs that are solely local in scope and do not appear to be reproducible nationally or over a greater population, thus limited to attracting additional outside funding for future years, are considered outside the scope of current funding parameters.
Applications are welcome from, but not limited to, dental organizations, dental schools, universities, government and/or community based non-profit groups for programs located in the United States and its territories.
DTA Foundation does not fund:
- Existing dental clinics
- Ongoing projects
- Mobile dental vans
- Staff salaries (unless it is a new position that is part of a new innovative project)
