Description:
The purpose of this program is to prevent at-risk households, including youth-headed households, from becoming homeless, and to assist in stabilizing their housing situation by providing temporary financial assistance and housing-focused case management. Funding will support local nonprofit agencies that provide critical homeless prevention programs and services to households throughout the state.
Eligible uses of funds include:
  1. Financial assistance:
  2. Security and utility deposits for up to one and one-half months of rent
  3. Rental assistance for up to six months
  4. Utility payments that must be made to prevent eviction
  5. Case management and supportive services:
  6. Developing an individualized housing stabilization plan with participating households that identifies needed services and documents a path to attainment
  7. Providing referrals to programs that assist households who are in danger of becoming homeless in obtaining services and information
  8. Negotiating with a landlord to assist households in avoiding eviction
  9. Developing a money management plan that incorporates the resolution of participant debt and credit issues
  10. Providing referrals or assistance in obtaining education and employment
  11. Administrative costs:
  12. Salaries, wages, and related costs of the applicant organization’s staff, subcontractor’s staff, or other staff engaged in project administration
  13. Operations, including indirect or direct costs for goods and services required to administer the project, such as rent, equipment, office supplies, insurance, and utilities
