Description:
The purpose of this program is to support mental health initiatives by bringing a venture capital approach to philanthropy in this area. This program aims to serve the needs of the underprivileged and support projects with the potential to greatly enhance public policy and the lives of citizens. Particular interest is given to new model, pilot, and demonstration projects that are:
  1. Fighting the stigma associated with mental illness and working to change the public’s negative perception of people who have mental illness
  2. Utilizing new knowledge and current technological advances to improve programs and services for people who have mental illness
  3. Bringing the full benefits of this new knowledge and technology to those who presently do not have access to them
  4. Advancing preventive mental health efforts, especially those targeted to youth and adolescents, with a special focus on strategies that involve parents, teachers, and others in close contact with these populations
