Description:
The purpose of this program is to make a positive impact in the communities where MDU Resources operates by making these communities better places to live and work. Funding will support projects that fall under one of the following categories:
- Health and human services: support for national and local health and human services agencies, hospitals, youth agencies, and senior citizen organizations that provide quality, accessible health care and human services
- Education: support for private secondary and higher education institutions, education development foundations, and economic education programs and scholarships in order to build strong individuals, families, and communities
- Civic and community activities: support for opportunities that will meet the needs of communities across the country
- Culture and the arts: support for art funds and councils, museums, theaters, libraries, and cultural centers that promote positive youth development
- Environment: support for organizations that promote the wise use of resources without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs
The program may support requests for capital construction, operating support, special projects, and sponsorships.
Primary consideration will be given to charitable institutions and organizations within the geographic areas where the MDU Resources Foundation’s member companies conduct business.
