The purpose of this program is to support individuals, families, and caregivers affected by Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias. Funding will support AFA member organizations to provide scholarships to qualified families that have a loved one with a diagnosis of Alzheimer’s disease or related dementia and are in need of respite services, including social model adult day care programs, in-home aides, companion care, and overnight respite. Through these scholarships, the program intends to improve the quality of life for both individuals living with Alzheimer’s disease and family caregivers by providing social engagement and cognitive stimulation for individuals with Alzheimer’s disease, and affording a much-needed time-out for caregivers.
