Description:
The purpose of this program is to establish cooperative working relationships, through partnerships with Indian tribes and tribal organizations, to ensure that tribes have the opportunity to participate fully in the development, management, and protection of their water and related resources.
Eligible projects may include:
  1. Water needs assessments
  2. Water management studies
  3. Short-term water quality data collection and assessments
  4. Short-term water measurement data collection and assessment
  5. Training for tribal staff and managers in areas of water resources development, management, and protection
  6. Minor rehabilitation or replacement of existing tribally owned, water-related structures and facilities
  7. Minor infrastructure installation projects, such as efficient landscape irrigation and drilling domestic and stock wells
Eligibility is limited to applicants located in the 17 western states identified in the Reclamation Act of June 17, 1902, as amended and supplemented, specifically Arizona, California, Colorado, Idaho, Kansas, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oklahoma, Oregon, South Dakota, Texas, Utah, Washington, and Wyoming.
