Description:
The purpose of this program is to support the spread of innovative social and emotional learning (SEL) practices in school districts nationwide. Awards will support teacher-led SEL projects to be generally implemented in classrooms or schools during the school year. Projects should seek to improve systems that foster social and emotional skills at the classroom, school, or district level in fresh, inventive, or innovative ways. Examples include interventions, instructional practices, and classroom and/or school community supports focused on improving competencies such as perseverance, learning mindsets, compassion, self-management, and a sense of belonging. Projects should create places, environments, and practices that value belonging, well-being, tolerance, compassion, listening, non-violence, inclusiveness, working productively together, and restoring and repairing relationships.
