Description:

The purpose of this program is to support planning, capital, and, in limited circumstances, operating assistance for tribal public transit services. Public transportation includes regular, continuing shared-ride surface transportation services open to the public or open to a segment of the public defined by age, disability, or low income. Specific types of projects include capital projects for start-ups, replacement or expansion projects, operating assistance for start-ups, and planning projects. Applicants must be located and provide services in a rural area.
