Sprouts Healthy Communities Foundation: Neighborhood Grants (Select Areas)

Description:
The purpose of this program is to inspire, educate, and empower children to live healthier lives. Funding will support nonprofit organizations working at the community level to provide nutrition education and food access programs to children that are interactive, educational, and fun, such as school and community gardens and youth cooking classes. Projects must address children’s health under the following areas:
  1. Nutrition/healthy food education
  2. Nutrition/healthy food access
  3. Healthy lifestyles and behaviors
Applicants proposing projects that will empower children and families to make healthy lifestyle choices and that address childhood obesity are ideal candidates for this program.
Eligible costs include salaries and benefits; consultant costs; supplies; travel, transportation, and mileage costs; equipment purchase/rental and maintenance costs; printing and publication costs; marketing costs; rent, utilities, and telecom costs; indirect costs; and other costs.
Eligibility is limited to applicants that have a presence in cities and communities where Sprouts Farmers Market operates, which include cities and communities in Alabama, Arizona, California, Colorado, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Kansas, Louisiana, Maryland, Missouri, Nevada, New Jersey, New Mexico, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, and Washington.
