Description:
The purpose of this program is to strengthen the nation’s environmental health capacity (EHC) to protect public health by strengthening the capacity of public health department environmental health (EH) programs. Projects will ensure safe and healthy environments and improve community health status. The program’s three main strategies are to:
  1. Use EH data and information for data-driven decision making
  2. Identify and address EH hazards
  3. Assess the effectiveness and impact of EH services and interventions
Funding will be provided for the following program components:
  1. (Part A): Build Core Capacity to Use EH Data
  2. (Part B): Strengthen the Capacity of EH Programs and Services
  3. (Part C): Capacity to Address Emerging/Priority EH Hazards
