Description:
The purpose of this program is to support telehealth networks that expand access to, coordinate, and improve the quality of health care services in rural areas; improve and expand the training of health care providers in such areas; and expand and improve the quality of health information available to health care providers, patients, and families for decision-making. The program is specifically aimed toward promoting rural tele-emergency services by enhancing telehealth networks in order to deliver 24-hour emergency department (ED) consultation services via telehealth to rural providers without emergency care specialists. Project activities must serve rural communities, though applicants may be located in either urban or rural areas.
