Business Development Manager
Katherine Jarvis has been working in business development for three years, following seven years of nonprofit experience. While in the nonprofit sector, Katherine worked for five years at a statewide child welfare organization, the Nebraska Child’s Home Society. During this time, her roles included grantwriting, program evaluation and community outreach. Before joining JVA in March 2018, Katherine worked for Briljent, a consulting firm specializing in training consultation, project management and organizational change management. As part of the state business development team, Katherine worked to support the missions and goals of state government agencies and build relationships with strategic partners.
As the business development manager at JVA, Katherine combines her social sector and business development backgrounds, connecting social changemakers to the JVA services that will help them reach their goals. In 2018, Katherine successfully connected 52 partners with JVA’s experts in grantwriting, facilitation, research and evaluation and training.
Katherine received her master’s in public administration from the University of Nebraska, Omaha, and her Bachelor of Arts degree from Grinnell College.
Katherine’s passion for public service has shaped her interests both professionally and personally. Katherine has participated in various capacities on boards and committees, including those of the Women’s Foundation of Colorado Empowerment Council (Denver), the Young Nonprofit Professional Network Professional Development Committee (Denver), and the Colorado Workforce Development State Youth Council, and as a member of the Founding Team of Community Bucket (Denver).
In addition to public service and social justice, Katherine’s passions include music, both listening and playing. When she is not working, Katherine enjoys building her record collection, as well as singing and playing the ukulele.
