The purpose of this program is to support nonprofit organizations striving to create healthy, thriving communities. The funding agency looks for innovative and effective ways to fulfill the company’s commitment to the communities it serves.
Projects must fall into one of the following focus areas:
- Hunger Relief: Support is provided for comprehensive hunger relief organizations and nonprofit food distribution centers. The majority of funding is allocated to area food banks in conjunction with store openings.
- Health, Wellness, and Nutrition Education: Support is provided for organizations promoting nutrition education and maintaining a healthy lifestyle through diet.
- Environmental Stewardship: Support is provided for projects that promote environmental stewardship, especially related to using energy more efficiently and reducing waste.
