Description:
The purpose of this program is to improve the health and lives of people affected by serious central nervous system illnesses and, ultimately, strengthen communities. Funding will support education projects that raise awareness in mental health and addiction and contribute to a better understanding of the treatment in a broader sense, including psychosocial methods as well as medications.
The program focuses on projects that enable access to care and facilitate early intervention. Support will be provided for independent medical and scientific education projects focused on the areas of substance abuse, opioid dependence, alcohol dependence, and mental and behavioral health, including funding for educational conferences, symposia, and presentations in other formats, such as web-based presentations and publications. Supported medical education activities include live, print, enduring, and/or web-based activities.
