The purpose of this program is to support projects that engage AmeriCorps members in evidence-based or evidence-informed interventions to strengthen communities. AmeriCorps members are individuals who engage in community service through an approved national service position, for which participation may include a living allowance and other benefits.
Priority will be given to applicants that address one of the following priorities, demonstrate that the priority area is a significant part of the program focus, and propose outcomes that include a high-quality program design:
- Healthy futures: reducing and/or preventing prescription drug and opioid abuse
- Safer communities: strengthening law enforcement and community relations
Projects can be awarded fixed-amount or cost-reimbursement awards in the following categories:
- Cost-reimbursement awards:
- Traditional
- Professional Corps
- Fixed-amount awards:
- Full-time
- Education Award Program (EAP)
- Professional Corps
