The purpose of this program is to provide financial assistance to public water systems for the construction of clean water projects that improve public and environmental health. Eligible projects include:
- Wastewater treatment needs:new construction of, rehabilitation of, or increasing the capacity of treatment plants, biosolids handling facilities, or reuse facilities
- Wastewater collections needs: such as new construction of or rehabilitation of collector sewers or interceptor sewers
- Stormwater needs: including conveyance/piping, treatment, low-impact development techniques/green infrastructure BMPs, or general storm management
- Nonpoint source (NPS) water pollution control projects: including those related to agriculture, silviculture, groundwater protection, watershed plans, stream restoration, hydromodificiation, storage tanks, sanitary landfills, and abandoned mines
