Description:

Funding from the Global Down Syndrome Foundation’s Educational Grant is intended to host educational programs for medical professionals, self-advocates, parents, and teachers. Grant applications must be related to research, medical care, and/or health outcome improvements for children and/or adults with Down syndrome. The grant application must be for a new or significant extension related to research, medical care, and/or health program. As well, the grant application must provide a clear way to measure impact that benefits people with Down syndrome. Target audiences may include people with Down syndrome, family members, and professionals. Grants are awarded on an annual basis and there is no limit to consecutive funding.

Eligible applicants:

  1. Applicant must be a GLOBAL Organization Member (to join or to learn more about memberships details and benefits, go to globaldownsyndrome.org/global-membership/).
  2. The grant application must be for a new or significant extension related to research, medical care, and/or health program.
  3. The grant application must provide a clear way to measure impact that benefits people with Down syndrome.
  4. Only organizations that are designated 501(c)(3) by the IRS can apply, or if located outside of the US, equivalent proof of government non-profit charitable status.
  5. Organizations must link from their home page to the Global Down Syndrome Foundation (www.globaldownsyndrome.org) as a resource. A Grant Agreement with terms of post-program reporting must be signed once a grantee is chosen in order to access the grant funds.
