Description:

The purpose of the program is to strengthen the practicing and future MCH workforce by providing training and collaborative learning for State Title V Maternal and Child Health Services Block Grant Program leaders and staff. Training will focus on three key topic areas related to health transformation1, including ongoing implementation of the Title V Block Grant: (1) systems integration; (2) change management and adaptive leadership; and (3) evidence-based decision making. The objectives of the program are to (1) coordinate and implement a national training strategy to address all three key topic areas within the Center’s purview; (2) develop and offer multiple modalities of training to Title V leaders and staff, emphasizing project-based, collaborative learning for cross-sector state teams and real-time application of knowledge and skills in an MCH context; (3) support summer practicum/internship placements for the future Title V workforce (undergraduate and graduate students); and (4) establish and strengthen academic-practice partnerships with state Title V Programs and national public health practice partners. Also in this notice is the opportunity to apply for additional funding to support Building Capacity to Advance Population Health Approaches for Children and Youth with Special Health Care Needs (CYSHCN).
