Description:

This solicitation provides funding to support girls who are involved in the juvenile justice system. The goal of this program is to reduce risk factors and promote protective factors for girls who come in contact with the juvenile justice system, and place them on a path toward success, stability, and long-term contribution to society. The objectives of the program include:

1. Increase protective factors to prevent further delinquent behavior by girls involved in funded programs.

2. Improve juvenile justice system responses for girls in contact with the system.

Eligible applicants:

State governments

Native American tribal organizations (other than Federally recognized tribal governments)

County governments

Nonprofits having a 501(c)(3) status with the IRS, other than institutions of higher education

Public and State controlled institutions of higher education

City or township governments

Native American tribal governments (Federally recognized)

Private institutions of higher education
