Description:

The purpose of this program is to promote a collaborative and integrated approach amongst the education and healthcare community to ensure students succeed academically, socially, and emotionally. Funding is intended to ensure children receive mental health services during and after the COVID-19 pandemic, and will support the placement of licensed mental health professionals (referred to as Transitional Coaches) on school campuses. Transitional Coaches will provide mental health services, and will also coordinate academic-support activities in collaboration with school district designated program personnel. Licensed mental health professionals on school campuses will provide mental health services and coordinate academic-support activities in collaboration with school district designated program personnel. The grant award involves assigning a fully-funded Transitional Coach to no more than ten district school campuses (one per school campus) to provide evidence-based mental health and social-emotional support services daily via telehealth and/or in-person consistent with the school’s operating academic model.

Applications will be reviewed and approved on a first-come, first-served basis until funding is no longer available. The grant does not require submission of a budget, nor is there a required match.
