Description:

The Coordinated Tribal Assistance grant provides federally recognized tribes and tribal consortia an opportunity to apply for funding to aid in developing a comprehensive and coordinated approach to public safety and victimization. The majority of the Department of Justice’s existing Tribal Government–specific programs are included in and available through this single Coordinated Tribal Assistance solicitation. The funding under this initiative is available to assist American Indian and Alaska Native communities in the areas of crime prevention, victim services, and coordinated community responses to violence against native women.

Program areas: Community Policing, Court Systems, Criminal Justice & Law Enforcement, Data Collection & Records Management, Domestic Violence & Sexual Assault, Drug, Gang, & Violent Crime, Emergency Response & Public Safety, Hazmat & Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear, and High Yield Explosives Response, Information Sharing & Systems Integration, Intelligence, Juvenile Justice, Prevention & Education, Probation & Corrections, Public Education & Outreach, Special Populations, Training & Continuing Education

Eligible applicants:

1) Federally recognized Indian tribes.

2) Consortia consisting of two or more federally recognized Indian tribes.

3) Tribal designees are eligible applicants only for certain activities related to the Department of Justice’s Office on Violence Against Women and Office for Victims of Crime programs.
