Description:

The purpose of this program is to support the development of urban agriculture and innovative production activities. Projects should target a single urban area or multiple urban areas, suburbs, or urban clusters in the United States where access to fresh foods is limited or unavailable. All project applicants must apply with one or more partner organizations to achieve project goals within the target area(s). Funding will be provided for the following program components:

  1. (Part A): Planning Projects (PP)
  2. (Part B): Implementation Projects (IP)

Eligible applicants:

  1. Native American tribal governments (Federally recognized)
  2. Native American tribal organizations (other than Federally recognized tribal governments)
  3. Nonprofits having a 501(c)(3) status with the IRS, other than institutions of higher education
  4. Nonprofits that do not have a 501(c)(3) status with the IRS, other than institutions of higher education
