Description:
The AAA Foundation for Traffic Safety places high priority with regard to the following four areas:
- Emerging Technologies – Setting Realistic Expectations for Consumers (e.g., How many motor vehicle crashes and fatalities will automated vehicles prevent in the future?)
- Vulnerable Road Users – Measuring Takeover Readiness in Drivers of Partially-Automated Vehicles
- Driver Behavior & Performance – Countermeasures to Reduce Drowsy Driving
- Roadway Systems & Drivers – Identifying Countermeasures to Protect Roadside Service and Incident Response Personnel
Eligible applicants:
Eligibility is open to any organizations qualified to do the work. However, for practical considerations, an organization outside of the U.S. should detail how regular project status meetings with AAA Foundation staff will take place.
