Description:

The Colorado Department of Public Health & Environment (CDPHE) and Water Quality Control Division (WQCD) are funding Nonpoint Source (NPS) are now accepting applications for:

1) watershed-based plan projects; and

2) watershed implementation projects that restore waterbodies impaired by nonpoint sources of selenium, sediment, pathogens, and nutrients OR protect waterbodies from nonpoint sources of pollution.

Applicants must be able to enter into cost reimbursement contracts with the State for projects chosen during a competitive process that begins with this funding announcement. For all projects, the application should demonstrate project requirements so that the following are met:

  1. Project location (including geolocations), river basin, waterbody ID, and HUC12
  2. Semi-annual and final reporting
  3. Progress reporting with each invoice submitted for reimbursement
  4. A NPS Program-approved sampling and analysis plan (SAP) for data collected during the project
  5. Uploading project data to EPA’s Water Quality Portal.
  6. Process for public involvement, including education/outreach
  7. Providing signage, written announcements and/or other outreach (e.g. social media) for the project that acknowledge funding from CDPHE WQCD NPS Program and EPA using approved branding
  8. Securing all required permits necessary for implementing the project
