The purpose of this program is to improve the quality of justice in the state courts of the United States. This program offers a variety of grants, contracts, and cooperative agreements to improve the administration of justice in state courts. Significant financial resources will be allocated to support the following priority investment areas:
- Language access and the state courts
- Self-represented litigation
- Reengineering to improve court services
- Remote technology
- Human trafficking and the state courts
- Guardianship, conservatorship, and elder issues
- Juvenile justice
- Fines, fees, and bail practices
Funding will be provided for the following program components:
- (Part A): Project Grants
- (Part B): Technical Assistance Grants
- (Part C): Curriculum Adaptation and Training (CAT) Grants
- (Part D): Education Support Program (ESP)
- (Part E): Strategic Initiatives Grants (SIG) (invitation only)
- (Part F): Partner Grants (invitation only)
