Description:

The Great Outdoors Colorado (GOCO) Planning & Capacity grants help our partners with planning, capacity, research, education, as well as further exploring issues and examining trends in the outdoors. Funding can accommodate a wide range of projects, including strategic plans and master plans. GOCO also invests in capacity-building and education efforts that help our partners make better informed decisions and take the appropriate actions. Through this program, GOCO also invests in research projects to share and further knowledge and facilitate learning in conservation and recreation. This can include community engagement and educational efforts that develop and foster networks, partnerships, and collaborations. GOCO is especially interested in funding storytelling projects, as this is helpful when communicating to our partners the impacts, benefits, and challenges outdoor work brings.

Projects should encompass one or more of GOCO’s program values:

  2. Outdoor stewardship supports sustainability of and improvements to the state’s natural and recreational resources.
