Adams County is currently conducting a comprehensive needs assessment to assist government agencies and non-profit organizations in delivering services. The assessment and its findings will enable county decision-makers and service providers to make informed recommendations in the development and improvement of community services. These recommendations will be aligned with the needs, interests and priorities of Adams County citizens.

The study will examine the needs identified specifically by low- and moderate-income residents. Multiple methods are being employed to ensure residents are accurately and thoroughly represented. These methods include telephone interviews, surveys at community events or local businesses and focus groups. A series of public meetings will be held in the fall to share data and receive feedback. Through the development of a five-year consolidated plan, Adams County will address improvement opportunities.

Adams County is working with JVA Consulting to conduct the assessment. Support for the project comes from federal funds distributed to the county for programs to assist low- to moderate-income residents. The assessment will continue through the end of September and the report will be available to the public in 2010.
