Where can you go in Edgewater to purchase organic farm-made cheeses, beef, chicken, bison or elk meat raised on small organic family ranches as well as Denver-grown garlic, local eggs, local milk and other artisanal food products?

JVA Consulting, 2465 Sheridan Boulevard, is the place. No, JVA has not become a grocery store, and before you drop in, you need to shop online at the Re:Vision Co-op Buying Club.

Re:Vision is a local nonprofit dedicated to working with people in marginalized neighborhoods to develop resident leaders, cultivate community food systems, and grow resilient economies.

Re:Vision recently received a $1.2 million grant from the City of Denver to create a co-op grocery store, café, greenhouse and food processing and aggregating facility at 3738 Morrison Road in Southwest Denver’s Westwood neighborhood.

The Buying Club is a way for people who don’t live in Westwood to both support the program and take advantage of the chance to buy high quality locally produced foods.

Joseph Teipel, Re:Vision director of operations, says the Buying Club not only enables people from all over the metro area to support Re:Vision while enjoying high quality local food products, but is providing Westwood residents the opportunity to gain some retail food experience prior to the full opening of the Westwood campus.

Re:Vision has been bringing not only good food, but the resources to grow and harvest good food to Westwood since 2009.

Orders placed online by midnight Sunday night will be available for pick-up at JVA on Thursdays between 3:30 and 6 pm.

Among the Colorado food products available from Re:Vision are Diestel turkeys, Morning Fresh milk, Ubuntu Urban Farms garlic, Rocking W Cheese, Frontiere Natural Meats, Boulder Natural Meats, Royal Crest Dairy, and grains, oats, dried beans etc. from Golden Organics.
