Training Policies

Our past participants tell us time and time again that our trainings are an effective tool for staff development. We utilize expertise from our staff in all of our interactive, experiential trainings for nonprofits, social enterprises, educational institutions and government agencies.

Knowing that setting expectations helps to set-up success, we wanted to be sure to share ours and to give you an idea of what to expect upon registering and attending one of our trainings or events.

When you enter the First floor, the elevators are located in the center of the floor. Please take the elevator to the Fifth Floor and take a right through the glass door and go to your left toward the conference room.

Parking

There is a garage with free parking across from our building located on the corner of W. Conejos Pl. and Stuart St. There is also public parking on the street or in the parking lot on the South side of the building.

Food and Beverages

We fully appreciate that a tasty beverage or snack can be just the ticket to keep your mind alert and your stomach happy, so please feel free to bring whatever you need for throughout your time with us. We only ask that you be respectful of your fellow training participants and our collective space by minimizing the potential for mess or strong aromas.

Also, especially relevant for our full or multi-day events, please note that JVA does not provide meals for any of our trainings. We welcome you to BYOL (bring your own lunch) or check out some of our great foodie neighbors:

JVA facilitators are also available to make recommendations and will allow sufficient time within the agenda for grabbing a bite to eat.

Training Schedule, Cancellations and Registration

In order to maintain the value of our trainings, we are adamant about starting and ending on time because we know, and respect, the value of each other’s time.

It is our intention to hold trainings on the date they are scheduled, but sometimes life has a way of challenging our good intentions, and we are in a position of having to cancel our training, including, but not limited, to the following circumstances:

  • It’s Colorado. Weather happens.  We want everyone to be safe.
  • Trainer emergency. We have never actually had to cancel a training class due to a trainer emergency, but emergencies can happen, and we want you to have access to our best subject experts.
  • You’ve told us that what you value is peer interaction and networking, so if the enrollment numbers aren’t there to make that happen, we may reschedule.

Credits/Refunds

At least 24 hours advance notice must be provided if you are unable to attend a training class in order to receive credit for a future training of the same value within six months.

The majority of trainings are rescheduled rather than cancelled. We will work with you to reschedule on a date that works best for everyone. If you are unable to attend a rescheduled training, you can use your credit for any upcoming training of the same value within six months.

JVA411

The training registration process auto-adds enrollees to JVA411, Joining Vision and Action’s weekly email of topical nonprofit sector news, upcoming trainings and funding opportunities. If desired, it is easy to discontinue JVA411 by using the unsubscribe from this list link at the bottom of the email.

Photos and Video

We all know the feeling of showing up on picture day at school—the one that you didn’t know/remember was happening—and you’re wearing your “forgot-to-do-laundry-this-weekend” outfit. Gah! With that in mind, we wanted to be sure to share that we may, at times, be taking pictures or filming parts of trainings and events here at JVA. Our intent in doing this is to be able to share with others what a JVA experience looks like.

By completing the registration process, you consent to the possibility of being included in these frames and to having those images used for promotional and/or training purposes. We thank you in advance for helping show others the great tools and experiences that await them.
