Colorado’s guiding vision for the two-generation (2Gen) approach? A state in which all families have access to the resources and support they need to escape poverty and achieve their full potential. The 2Gen approach focuses on meeting the needs of children and the adults in their lives together, to help both have a better chance at a brighter future. This was the impetus for Colorado’s first 2Gen Statewide Conference in November 2017. JVA was honored to attend this event and capture some of the key findings and recommendations for moving forward. JVA’s report helped inform the Strengthening Colorado Families action plan, released in October 2018 by state agencies, to use 2Gen approaches to fight intergenerational poverty.
